Karerhof is an organic, family-run farm situated in the heart of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Dolomites. Located off the beaten path yet within easy reach of hiking and skiing trails or the vibrant dining scene in Bolzano, it offers the perfect balance between seclusion and accessibility. Five new apartments, crafted from South Tyrolean larch and local stone, welcome guests with spacious, light-filled interiors, panoramic views, and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The spa area is a haven of relaxation, featuring a Finnish sauna with stunning forest and mountain views, a cozy relaxation room with tea and dried fruit, and high-quality infusion oils from South Tyrolean mountain pine and Swiss stone pine. A unique highlight is the Kuschelsuite in the barn, where guests can sleep in a double bed filled with mountain hay and herbs, creating a truly immersive alpine experience.

Guests can self-cater in their apartments or enjoy an organic breakfast on request. The trust bar offers regional wines, beers, and distillates for tasting at any time. Outdoor enthusiasts are well catered for with free toboggan and snowshoe rentals in winter and e-bike charging facilities in summer. An on-site e-charging station for cars adds to Karerhof’s commitment to sustainability.

Karerhof is not an opulent five-star accommodation-- no pool, room-service, or fancy toiletries. And they don't take credit cards. We were not looking for that. We sought instead some unique small lodging as a base to hike the Dolomites. We could not have been more lucky. We were not looking for that. We sought instead some unique small lodging as a base to hike the Dolomites. We could not have been more lucky. When we arrived at Karerhof my first thought was: "Did I just die and go to heaven?" The pictures online cannot convey the absolute, jaw-dropping beauty and serenity of this location. The renovation of the farm by the young owners was done with a lot of (good) thought and attention to detail-- The design is clean, modern, practical, and all made with real materials (wood is wood, stone is stone-- no fakes). We stayed at one of the two apartments in the newer wing. Although we did not intend to use it, the apartment came with a well furnished kitchen. We ended up cooking our dinners there, as the Dolomites' gastronomic offerings turned out to be, at best, uninspiring. That said, Christine will go out of her way to prepare for you a memorable breakfast suited to your whims, and we'd recommend you take the option. She will also assist you in planning your activities in the area like a five-star concierge! Alas, our stay at Karerhof ended too soon, only wished we'd stayed longer! [...]

If you're looking for the real luxury, you can't imagine the better place to stay in the heart of the Dolomites. Perfect location, beautiful views, fantastic, modern and ultra clean apartment. Well... actually, I don't want to write this review because I prefer to keep this amazing place to myself. For the past five years I have been celebrating my holidays in the Dolomites and have had the opportunity to visit many beautiful places. But this place.... really beats everything. For the past five years I have been celebrating my holidays in the Dolomites and have had the opportunity to visit many beautiful places. But this place.... really beats everything. The view from the apartment is truly breathtaking. The apartments in the new wing have large windows that permanently treat you to one of the most beautiful views the Dolomites have to offer. The corner appartment really ties it all together. Here it doesn't matter whether the weather is good or bad. You can contemplate the natural spectacle in all its glory and comfort. That spectacle is highlighted by the apartments comfort and interior design, all the more so. It is like being in a scene from a Hollywood blockbuster movie. In addition, it is an ideal base for hiking and mountain biking. We had insanely beautiful mtb trips without having to get in the car. Not to mention the photogenic Karreza Lake which is a stone's throw away. It's a place I actually had no desire to leave at all. [...]
