In the centre of Mayrhofen, Neuhaus Zillertal Resort combines an expansive wellness offering with thoughtful facilities for families. The historic property has belonged to the Moigg family since 1649 and has grown around a 15,000 square metre romantic garden. Ancient fruit trees, quiet resting places and a natural swimming lake create a green retreat overlooking the Zillertal mountains.

The 170 rooms, suites, apartments, chalets and private lake lofts are spread across several buildings and range from inviting rooms with Alpine character to spacious family suites. In the new Garden House, oak, linen, stone and sheep’s wool create calm interiors with a close connection to nature. The 60 square metre Garden Family Suite has a separate children’s room, a changing station and plenty of space for time together.

The centrepiece of the resort is the 5,800 square metre Badehaus. Two 25 metre infinity pools, saunas, relaxation rooms, yoga and meditation are complemented by a dedicated wellness area for adults. At the same time, wellness here is designed to include the whole family. Seppi’s Water World has a 90 metre tube slide, a wide wave slide, water games and a pool for smaller children. A family sauna, treatments for children and teenagers and a comfortable family relaxation room complete the experience. Beyond the Badehaus, families will find a 2,000 square metre natural playground, supervised activities five days a week, an indoor children’s area, a cinema and bowling lanes. Summer brings hiking and cycling through the surrounding mountains, while in winter the ski areas of the Zillertal are within easy reach.

The cuisine remains closely connected to the region. Many ingredients come from the resort’s own farm, kitchen garden and local waters. Traditional Tyrolean dishes are served in atmospheric wood panelled dining rooms, while the bright Garden Restaurant offers seasonal cuisine overlooking the lake and mountains. For a special evening, guests can walk through the romantic garden to FEIN at the neighbouring ElisabethHotel, where refined Alpine cooking highlights regional produce and ingredients from the family farm.

Behind the scenes, thoughtful use of natural resources is equally central. Groundwater heat pumps powered by certified renewable electricity supply warmth to the Badehaus and the resort’s other buildings. The cooled water is then used to cool the restaurant and the new guest rooms. Solar panels, solar thermal technology and heat recovery complement the energy system. Green roofs planted with lavender and succulents provide habitats and retain water, while convenient public transport connections make it easy to explore the surrounding mountains without a car.

Mayrhofen is right on the doorstep of Neuhaus Zillertal Resort. In winter, the Superskipass covers the valley’s ski areas, and ski tours start directly outside the hotel. In summer, walking and electric bike routes follow the Stillupbach into the Stilluptal, where crocus meadows bloom purple in spring. Austria’s highest eagle display arena and a traditional show dairy are nearby. Beyond lies the Zillertal Alps Nature Park.
