One of the hotel’s best-kept secrets is its vertical garden—the largest in Barcelona. All rooms overlook this unique green space. Room sizes range from 19 to 55 square meters and include king or twin beds, with décor that features a refined selection of wallpaper, books, cushions, and vibrant armchairs. The suite includes a special touch: two hours of private rooftop access available from May to October.

At the in-house Contraban Restaurant, Chef Alain Guiard presents a menu that reflects a creative culinary journey. Like an artist with a blank canvas, the experience takes diners through a range of emotions—from excitement and freedom to surprise and even challenge. Each dish is a masterful creation, pushing the boundaries of culinary art while staying rooted in the essentials. Bold yet sophisticated, Contraban turns every meal into an inspiring moment.

The moment you walk up to the hotel (and you will indeed “walk” up, as there is no way for a car to get you all the way to the hotel) you can tell it’s something special. The moment you walk up to the hotel (and you will indeed “walk” up, as there is no way for a car to get you all the way to the hotel) you can tell it’s something special. In the heart of (IMO) the best part of the city and tucked away like a well kept secret, it immediately feels exclusive without an ounce of pretension. The staff was warm, friendly and attentive. Julian, the concierge, took us to our room and gave us a tour. He was then seemingly ever present to answer any questions we had. Marena, made us laugh in the evenings at the bar. Each bar tender, room steward, front desk staff and waiter we had was flawlessly professional, warm and friendly. The rooftop was a delight and turns into a bit of a social hour later in the afternoons as people come to hang out and rest a bit before dinner (at least during warm season/good weather). The rooms feel bespoke and the courtyard was a great space to enjoy breakfast in the morning. The only drawback I had, which I suspect is a big plus for many, is that everything in the hotel shuts down pretty early. By 10:30 or 11:00, the bar was closed and everyone seemed to be tucked in. Understandable for a hotel with only 22 rooms and, really, not a big deal with so many great bars in the area. My personal favorites (both within a 2-minute walk) were Dr. Stravinsky (we discovered later, on the 50 best bars in the world list…makes sense) and Agüelo Taberna, a cool little spot with a great vibe and great bar tenders. This will be your best stay in Barcelona if you value warmth, style, and atmosphere. If you like pretension and fussiness (you know who you are), go elsewhere. You’ll kill the vibe. [...]

Our stay at The Wittmore Hotel in August was truly extraordinary. The staff demonstrated unparalleled attentiveness to our preferences, creating a personalized experience that made us feel genuinely valued. The hotel's beautiful decoration throughout the property was complemented perfectly by the sweet and charming rooftop soaking pool, which provided blissful relief during the summer heat. Our stay at The Wittmore Hotel in August was truly extraordinary. The staff demonstrated unparalleled attentiveness to our preferences, creating a personalized experience that made us feel genuinely valued. The hotel's beautiful decoration throughout the property was complemented perfectly by the sweet and charming rooftop soaking pool, which provided blissful relief during the summer heat. Thoughtful touches like restocking our minibar with gin and tonic, combined with the phenomenal Michelin-starred restaurant in the lovely atrium, elevated our experience to new heights. Located in Barcelona's enchanting Gothic Quarter, we were perfectly positioned to explore the medieval charm of cobblestone streets and discover delightful local shops and markets.
