I recently stayed at Coco-Mat Hotel in Athens and overall had a very pleasant experience. The service was truly excellent — the staff were professional, polite and consistently helpful throughout my stay. The location is another major advantage: right in the heart of the city, with easy access to shops, restaurants and key attractions. We were not sure where to stay for a night in Athens and this place didn’t disappoint. Firstly a shout out to the bell boy who was amazing, courteous, helpful and a wealth of information. The hotel is walking distance to the Acropolis and the Panathenaic Stadium as well as several other places to see. Our favorite was a gelato place (patisserie) where the pistachio gelato was my favorite. Breakfast was really good with small portions of great food. The egg menu was amazing and delicious. We initially booked our stay at Coco-Mat BC because of the stunning rooftop pool and panoramic views of the Acropolis. Shortly before arriving, we were informed that the rooftop had been closed indefinitely, which was disappointing news. However, from the moment we arrived, any disappointment melted away thanks to the **exceptional service and hospitality** we received. From the very start, we were treated with such warmth and care. **Vasilis and the entire staff went above and beyond** to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. We were upgraded to a spacious room with an incredible view of the Acropolis, and upon arrival, we were surprised with a thoughtful gesture of chilled white wine and fresh fruit. Since we had arrived early, the hotel graciously offered us a **complimentary breakfast on arrival day**, which was outstanding—farm-to-table quality, an abundant buffet paired with à la carte options, freshly baked pastries, homemade jams, and honey straight from the honeycomb. Our room itself was beautifully designed, with the most **comfortable mattress we’ve ever slept on** (a true highlight of the Coco-Mat brand). The welcome bag with beverages and slippers was another thoughtful touch that made us feel at home instantly. The staff seamlessly arranged our airport transfers and anticipated every need with such calm professionalism. A delightful surprise was discovering the spa area, complete with a serene pond featuring live turtles and fish—adding a unique and relaxing ambiance to the hotel experience. And the **location couldn’t have been better**—right by the Acropolis and within a 20-minute walk of all the must-see sites in Athens, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. Though our stay was only 24 hours, it left a lasting impression. We left wishing we had booked more nights and are already planning to return on our next trip to Athens—without hesitation.
