Her presence was comforting and professional—she went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The intimate setting of the lodge allows for the kind of personalized service that’s incredibly rare to find. We felt pampered every moment. The food was truly five-star—each meal beautifully curated with fresh, local ingredients and thoughtful presentation. Risper, our butler, was kind, gracious, and always one step ahead, making every meal and moment feel special. After adventurous game drives, we loved being escorted back to our suite by the watchman, who also helped us light a cozy fire—such a comforting and thoughtful touch that made our evenings feel like home in the wild. Napping while watching animals roam just beyond our room’s view was surreal—something we’ll never forget. And we have to give special mention to Antony, our guide. He was phenomenal. Truly one of the best guides we’ve ever had—knowledgeable, funny, kind, and deeply passionate about the wildlife. Thanks to him, we saw over seven lions, including a kill and playful cubs, multiple rhinos, a hyena, Cape buffalo, and more. His ability to track, educate, and entertain made every drive unforgettable. The privacy of the drives—without the crowds of vehicles—made for a more meaningful and connected experience with nature. The bush breakfasts and sundowners were picture-perfect and added even more magic to the experience. We’ve stayed in luxury resorts around the world, but Solio Lodge was on another level. Solio Lodge is nestled between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains on Solio Conservancy. The ranch spreads over 45,000 acres with a 19,000 acre wildlife conservancy.

By air: Daily scheduled flights from Nairobi to Nanyuki Airstrip are available, followed by a 1.5-hour transfer to the lodge. Private charter flights can also land at Solio’s private airfield.

By road: It’s a four-hour drive from Nairobi.
