- The Safari Collection runs a project called TEAMTalk with the communities on the edge of the Maasai Mara focusing on health, female empowerment, FGM reduction and HIV awareness
- It is run in the local schools and uses sport to successfully facilitate workshops raising awareness of these important issues

- Sala’s Camp supports a whole range of different initiatives. From pangolin protection, big cat monitoring and supporting a team of rhino rangers, to health clinics and community workshops

ACTIVITIES
Game drives in one of the world’s most prolific wildlife areas. The Masai Mara is home to Africa’s ‘Big Five’, as well as the world-famous annual migration of wildebeest. Star gazing is superb here. Admire the birdlife on nature walks within the camp or play volleyball in the Sand River (seasonal). For more information please read our activities and extras document.

CHILDREN
Children are welcome and under-threes stay free. Extra beds are available on request and family tents have additional space. The local Maasai are keen to teach their traditions and will show children how to throw a ‘rungu’, tie a ‘shuka’ and make a bow & arrow. Activities also include searching for the ‘toothbrush tree’, spotting the ‘Little Five’ and the ‘Ugly Five’ on game drives, and finding spoor in the riverbed. Special meals can be made by prior arrangement.

Fall in love with the honeymoon suite, enjoy private romantic dinners, an unforgettable balloon safari and champagne breakfasts. We recommend a civil wedding in the home country prior to the ceremony.

Sala’s camp is located at the convergence of the Sand and Keekorok Rivers, in the heart of the Masai Mara. It is perfectly situated as the first Mara property to welcome the annual wildebeest migration, from July to September, when over a million gnus pour into the Masai Mara from the Serengeti.

By road it is four hour drive from Nairobi to Narok Road, then towards Sekenani gate, past Keekorok and on towards Roan Hill.
