Maslina Resort: A Stylish Retreat with Sustainable Luxury for the Whole Family

Maslina Resort is seasonally open from May to October

Located on the popular Croatian island of Hvar, Maslina Resort is a sublime hideaway enveloped in rich history, untouched nature, and cultural heritage. This newly built resort stretches across two hectares of lush pine forest with the crystalline Adriatic Sea at its fingertips. All Maslina’s fifty-three spacious rooms, suites, and villas enjoy stunning sea and garden views, privacy, and impeccable comfort. Using local materials, the interiors are equipped with terracotta, Brac island stone, and brushed brass, as well as local wood. Dedicated to a mindful lifestyle, all amenities are created with organic ingredients and local essential oils.

Holistic mind-body nourishment is a core element at the resort. The Pharomatiq spa is inspired by Hvar’s healing environment and the Mediterranean lifestyle featuring a garden-to-skin inspired spa menu. Treatments include traditional massage techniques, sound therapy, vibrational healing, herbal tonics, and therapeutic-grade essential oils. An integral part of their wellness services is Mindful Movement Classes including yoga, meditation, and fitness.

Rooted in typical Mediterranean cuisine, the restaurant and bars offer traditional Mediterranean dishes with a contemporary twist, made from fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. Maslina Resort is family friendly, offering a kids playroom and various activities.

Croatia is a paradise for those who love to be in and on the water. Spend your day snorkeling, paddleboarding or exploring neighboring islands on a boat.

The biggest downside of this hotel are the rooms. Family suite at 2,000€ per nigh in post season was not what you would expect from a 5* hotel. Room design and the quality of the furnishing is actually quite good. Room layout is not great though. Not nearly enough cabinet space to store the clothes. Room design and the quality of the furnishing is actually quite good. Room layout is not great though. Not nearly enough cabinet space to store the clothes. There is no enough space to place the toiletries or even the towels. View of one of the rooms is directly on the road and of course you can hear every vehicle passing by. For some reason, the terrace has 8 chairs grouped in sets of two with a small table. They all get wet when it rains. And it goes down from here. All lights will turned off after 20 minutes and only way to turn them on was if you get to the entrance area where the motion detector will activate them again. This is impossible though if you are in the washroom because it is COMPLETELY black with no window and no way to find the lock. This got fixed in the 2nd attempt but one thing that is hard to believe that the suite has ONE single toilet and one single shower. No walk-ins either. In a 5* hotel ??? Some things were very good though. Staff and service were great and the whole resort was very nice and well maintained. Breakfast was really excellent even though the forgot our order once. Beach is also quite good and service there was great. Wooden bikes look great on the photos but trust me, you won't ride those anywhere. It was a last minute pick so my overall experience was good, but it is unlikely I will be back again. [...]

The treatments were excellent and the staff throughout the property were friendly, attentive, and professional. •   The location is gorgeous, set right by the water with a scenic 25-minute walk along the sea to town. If you prefer not to walk, the complimentary hotel shuttle is a nice touch. •   Overall, the property itself and the service both feel worthy of a five-star rating. Cons: •   While the room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable, as were the crisp linens, the room itself wasn’t especially comfortable or practical. There’s very little storage, so we ended up living out of our suitcases. The seating area wasn’t inviting, with only two hard chairs that made it hard to relax. I will add that every space was well cared for and very clean. •   The bathroom looked nice but wasn’t designed for ease of use — there’s almost no counter space, the lighting is quite dim, and noise from the hallway and guests above was noticeable. •   These small details added up and made the room experience feel more like a 4-star stay, even though the rest of the resort delivered on a 5-star level. I’ll also note that the resort and surrounding area were winding down for the season, and I was initially worried we might not experience the full range of services. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything still felt fresh, welcoming, and fully operational. Having weighed all the pros and cons, I would return to this property. [...]

Overall a fantastic time. Started off rocky. The check-in experience was terrible. We spoke with 3 different people. Waited around a long time. The third person, Ivanna? Her name started with an I. We spoke with 3 different people. Waited around a long time. The third person, Ivanna? Her name started with an I. She showed us to our room, which was the very first room directly next to the pool. I had just heard kids playing loudly in the pool a few minutes prior and asked if it was possible to have a different room. Her attitude turned very negative very quickly. She lied to us, saying "there would be no noise and no kids playing and all the kids are back in school now. And we probably don't have any other rooms." She never bothered to check. This set a very strange tone at the start. Sure enough, the day after next, there were very loud kids in the pool screaming in Spanish. Lastly, service was very slow at breakfast about half the time. Outside of all that, we had an amazing experience. Rooms themselves are very nice, modern and new. Food and drinks are great. Highlight is the beach amenities. Spa is also very solid. Had a nice massage. [...]
