Es Racó d’Artà

A Wellbeing Retreat Inspired by Genuine Mallorquin Life

Nestled adjacent to a natural park in a serene valley, protected by the mountains, and only a stone’s throw from the picturesque village of Artà and the turquoise Mediterranean Sea, Es Raco d’Arta is an oasis of peace and tranquility. The hotel’s old ‘finca’ dating back to the 13th century has passed through different families over generations and was then abandoned in the 1960s when tourism got a foothold on the island. Restoring the finca brought back to life the long-lost Mallorca where nature, architecture, culture, and gastronomy were deeply rooted in everyday life.

The property is designed and built completely sustainably by owners Antoni and Jaume. All materials are natural and recycled. Energy is generated either through solar panels or by the geothermal system. The 34 suites and cottages have private terraces, some even pools, and are generously spread throughout the grounds. Minimalistic design is completed with contemporary works by Mallorquin artists.

Offering a variety of different experiences, guided by accomplished practitioners, Es Racó d’Artà combines natural beauty and unspoiled nature with a palate of sights, sounds, tastes, aromas and textures, inviting guests to connect through all their senses while embodying the healing experience of being natural. The gastronomy is seasonal and based on the produce from the properties garden as well as from local organic produce available from neighboring fincas on the island.

Mindful living is at the heart of the concept. Guests are invited to explore nature and themselves with guided meditation, yoga, hikes, nutrition and lifestyle consultations, as well as artisan workshops from pottery, art classes to medicinal plants and herbs workshops.

Es Racó d’Artà is not a hotel, but a destination for transformation. It is an invitation to being in the present moment, to discover what really is; what is authentic and what is real. Nature is an ever-present part of the experience. A place to be inspired by genuine Mallorquin life. Check in with self and with others; leaning in, deepen, returning to the body, to our senses, to our humanness, fully embodying life here on earth.

This workshop introduces the ancient Mallorcan technique of basket weaving. The island’s artisans use the leaves of the palm tree for their work. This traditional Mallorcan craft is known as Llatra.

It is the perfect serene escape from busy city life, offering a true reset. Property & Amenities The property is stunning, blending modern conveniences with charming historical details. Everything is impeccably maintained. The spa facilities are excellent, featuring a dry sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and an indoor heated pool that are cared for throughout the day. Rooms are spacious, peaceful, and designed with privacy in mind, you barely notice other guests. They are spotless, refreshed daily, and turned down in the evening, which made our stay even more comfortable. Dining Breakfast was one of the best we’ve experienced, with a generous selection of cheeses, yogurts, fruit, and baked goods alongside a made to order hot menu. Dinner was equally impressive, every dish we tried was delicious. Seafood lovers should plan ahead and reserve dinner early, as the catch of the day can sell out quickly. One note for future guests: there are bees around the pool and outdoor dining area. It didn’t bother us, but those who are uneasy around bees may want to keep this in mind. Overall A beautifully maintained property, exceptional dining, and warm hospitality make this hotel a truly special destination. We can’t wait to return [...]

When the gates open for the first time, you slowly make your way along a winding road that seems to carry you deeper and deeper into another world. The landscape unfolds in soft, quiet layers, and with every turn you feel the outside noise fade further into the distance, until only the gentle rhythm of nature remains. Spread across 220 hectares, Es Racó d’Artà is a sanctuary, an ecological system in itself. It welcomes you into a vision of timeless Mallorcan luxury, one rooted in substance, calm, and quiet elegance, far removed from mass tourism, neon lights, and loud music. Andrea, the Director of Sales & Marketing, graciously invited us to learn about the estate’s history, the story of the hotel, and the sustainable cycle that sustains this place. We discovered the on-site cultivation of vegetables and fruits, the origins of animal produce, and the way water and energy are sourced, all in harmony with the land. For me, Es Racó d’Artà became a place where my mind, body, and spirit could exhale. Thank you, and until we meet again. [...]

And believe me I usually choose hotels and restaurants carefully:) I just fell in love to its atmosphere of nature, peace, meditation, and luxury relaxation. Although I didn’t stay overnight, I booked a spa visit and had a wonderful prenatal massage — highly recommended for expecting moms! I also dined at the restaurant twice. The setting is absolutely stunning and serene, and the whole concept of the place feels very exclusive and calming. The food was good, though I’d rate it a solid 4 out of 5 — what impressed me more was the design, ambiance, and philosophy behind the experience. Special thanks to the restaurant staff — they were attentive, kind, and genuinely helpful. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat to reconnect with yourself or enjoy a luxurious day experience, Es Racó d’Artà is definitely worth a visit! [...]
