Paraiso Escondido means "hidden paradise" in Portuguese. This family-run hotel with only 10 rooms is a real hidden gem with panoramic views of the wild Alentejo countryside. Imagine the scent of eucalyptus, the chirping of cycads, and the warm rays of the sun on your skin. It is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the beautiful things in life. Owner Berny Serrao, who grew up in Mozambique and traveled the world with her husband before settling here, has found her "stolen Africa."
Living in harmony with nature is the driving force behind this beautiful property set among rolling hills. From the main building, large windows open onto terraces overlooking the breathtaking landscape. The luxurious rooms and suites feature wooden furniture and fine fabrics. Soft, cheerful colors and African and Asian artifacts define the interiors. Contemporary design combines with a neo-colonial style. All rooms have their own terrace. Those who want extra privacy choose the detached bungalows on stilts, which are just a five-minute walk from the main building.
Menus for breakfast and dinner are based on a farm-to-table concept. Produce used comes from the hotel's own organic vegetable garden or from nearby farms within a 35 km radius. The cuisine is vegetarian or vegan with Ayurvedic influences.
Relax by the wood-burning fireplace in the lounge, cool off in the pool, and rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul in the yoga studio. Hike or walk through the beautiful landscape of eucalyptus and cork trees that surrounds the retreat's grounds. Or catch the waves at the beach, which is only a 15-minute drive away.

- Paraiso Escondido’s buildings are made with natural materials, mainly wood, some suites are built on stilts without a cement fundament

Paraiso Escondido is located in the southwest Alentejo. It is 2.5 hours by car from Lisbon and 1.5 hours from Faro.
The nearest beaches Zambujeira do Mar, Carvalhal, Odeceixe and Vila Nova de Milfontes are between 15 and 25 minutes by car.
