NOMAD Mykonos: An Elegant Bohemian Retreat Specializing in Traditional Greek Minimalism

NOMAD Mykonos is seasonally open from April to October

On an island best known for its nightlife and summertime hedonism, NOMAD Mykonos offers a tranquil retreat for those seeking a more meaningful connection with nature and self. Nestled in the serene landscape of Kalo Livadi, the boutique property comprises 13 exclusive suites designed to embody understated luxury. Minimalist interiors in earthy tones feature local Aliveri grey marble bathtubs for two, curated decor crafted from natural materials, and private terraces where guests can enjoy alfresco dining or request in-suite spa treatments for ultimate relaxation.

Each suite is a sanctuary, blending simplicity with indulgence. Private plunge pools, large outdoor lounge areas, and Mediterranean-inspired furnishings invite guests to unwind in harmony with the island’s natural beauty. The focus on sustainability extends throughout the property, with eco-friendly initiatives such as energy-efficient construction, reliance on local and organic resources, and a conscious effort to minimize waste.

Kukulu Restaurant focuses on seasonal Mediterranean dishes crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The menu highlights the vibrant flavors of the Cyclades, offering thoughtful options for every palate, including creative vegan and vegetarian dishes. Breakfast features house-baked bread, fresh fruits, and innovative plant-based selections. The bar complements the dining experience with cocktails inspired by the island, infused with local herbs and crafted with precision, creating a dynamic yet relaxed atmosphere for guests.

Wellness takes center stage at NOMAD. The fitness center features sustainable equipment crafted from recycled materials and designed to operate without electricity. Yoga sessions, tailored to all levels, are offered on-site, and the stone pool, surrounded by sunbeds, provides a tranquil space for reflection and relaxation. Communal meditation sessions by the outdoor fireplace create a sense of connection, followed by handcrafted drinks from the hotel’s mixology bar.

Spend your day lounging by the pool, exploring the golden sands of Kalo Livadi, or enjoying a serene meal on your terrace with views of the Aegean Sea. As evening falls, sip a signature cocktail under the stars, soaking in the soulful calm that NOMAD Mykonos has to offer.

The daily evening foot salts and delicious breakfasts delivered to our garden were delightful. We had a relaxing and restorative time here. It’s well located 1 minute drive from a beautiful sandy beach, 5 minutes from ano mera and 15 minutes from Mykonos town. Very quiet and peaceful. Could see the sea from our bed! Would definitely return if coming back to Mykonos. [...]

To say this place is magical, is an understatement. Nomad Mykonos is our favorite hotel in all of Greece. From the details of the hotel and room decor to the amazing, caring staff, Nomad is the home away from home we cherish. This place feels like a chic resort like no others in Mykonos. We To say this place is magical, is an understatement. Nomad Mykonos is our favorite hotel in all of Greece. From the details of the hotel and room decor to the amazing, caring staff, Nomad is the home away from home we cherish. This place feels like a chic resort like no others in Mykonos. We were treated like royalty, but not in the over-the-top, trying too hard way. It was genuine hospitality at its best. The hotel manager, Lefteris, was very friendly and always there when we needed anything, and the way he runs this hotel is showcased in all the little details. Rooms: Beyond stunning and overly spacious, especially with Europe standards. We opted for the Honeymoon Suite, and got Room 25, which I recommend because of the corner location. We had an amazing view of the full moon each night from our personal pool. The bed was extremely comfortable and the use of light fabrics made for great sleeping. The bathroom was large and I especially loved the double toilets, which were convenient. The marble sinks and all natural stone finishes throughout were immaculate. The patio was perfect, with 2 comfortable lounge chairs and a personal pool, which was perfect temperature. They also provided a raffia beach bag and large beach towels in case we wanted to visit their pool or go to the nearby beach (which is Kalo Livadi, and is one of the prettiest beaches in Mykonos and only a 5-minute walk from the hotel). Food: The food was excellent, and breakfast was included, like the standard inclusion of most European hotels. The breakfast options were amazing, especially the fresh-squeezed juices and local ingredients (cheeses, spices, tomatoes). We had dinner twice at the hotel because we wanted a chill, yet luxurious experience, which they provided. Staff: As mentioned, the manager, Lefteris, was on point making sure our experience was wonderful. All the staff, including the housekeeping, were very nice and helpful. It was truly a genuine effort, too, which made all the difference. Location: I have stayed at various locations throughout Mykonos (prior to discovering Nomad), but absolutely prefer and love the location of Nomad. For starters, you are in a high-end, luxury area, with views of the tranquil mountains, but aren't directly in the town or in a further location like Elia, for example, where you are so far out that everything is inconvenient. Nomad's location is quiet at night, which we loved so much, but close enough to all the fun and things to do. We did rent a car so that we could do things around the island, and I highly recommend that. Nomad offers a free parking lot directly on the property, and it's very nice and effortless. They even provided us with a rental car company who they recommend, and we were able to get great transportation. Overall, Nomad was the absolute best experience and more than what we could have imagined. There is not a hotel of this caliber on the island. I know great detail with architecture and design, as it's my passion, and I appreciate the effort placed into the luxury, one-of-a-kind artifacts and decor placed throughout the rooms and interior of the hotel. They even brought in the large olive tree at the entrance from another part of Greece (I believe the Peloponnese), and it's a 300 year-old stunning element to the hotel. Amazing work, Nomad. You will be our forever home when we are in Mykonos. [...]
