ADLER Lodge Ritten: Unpretentious Luxury and Wellness Hideaway Overlooking the Dolomites

ADLER Lodge RITTEN welcomes children 8 years and up

Located in the wooded hills of the Dolomites, ADLER Lodge Ritten is an all-inclusive five-star experience in a calm, nature setting. A main lodge with an open-plan lounge contains twenty expansive suites crafted from local Tyrolean oak. The rooms are fit with vintage travel trunks, handcrafted tweed stools and local design pieces. The twenty chalets are truly a special experience— floor-to-ceiling windows open up to the Alpine setting. Each has its own bio-sauna and fireplace. Some are lakeside.

Wellness is at the heart of this property. Gaze at the Dolomites as you swim laps in the year-round heated open-air infinity pool, then visit the spa for an invigorating treatment. Here, relax in the Finnish sauna, aromatic bio-sauna, steam room and plunge pool. Open-air dining features beautiful seasonal Alpine specialties. Hike or bike after a late lunch—in the winter months, the slopes are close by. Dinner is an indulgent, five-course experience under the stars.

Please note: ADLER Lodge RITTEN welcomes children from 8 years and up. For Families with smaller children, we recommend AKI Family Resort PLOSE.

The bed was possibly the most comfortable hotel bed ever. There is no central AC, but the staff was able to provide a portable AC unit that worked well. The restaurant is phenomenal! The menu rotates daily and highlights food and wine from the region. The wine selection at the hotel is excellent! Definitely will be returning to Adler Lodge Ritten! [...]

Four of us total (two couples) with two in a junior chalet on the pond and two in a suite on the opposite end of the property. Absolutely loved every second of it. We were already talking about coming back before we even left.😭🥹 The breakfast was incredible, and the cocktails were some of the best we’ve had. They’re wonderfully creative with their drink program. After ordering my 3rd Aperol Spritz they basically said, “let us make you something fun this time” and made something far better. Don’t miss the croissants with fresh honeycomb either. We ate our weight in these 😋 One person in our group owns an Airbnb revenue business and a hotel, so he’s seen a lot of properties. He said it was the best hospitality he’s ever experienced and he wouldn’t stop talking about the quality of the materials used throughout the property and how thoughtfully everything was executed. He was also thrilled to be staying at a Michelin Key property, and they absolutely deserve that recognition. The property itself is so beautiful that we barely wanted to leave, even though they offer so many ways to explore. They give you a train card, a cable car pass and more. We used the train once, but ended up heading back pretty quickly because we just loved being there so much. Highly recommend taking any of their wellness classes and grabbing bikes to explore the grounds and surrounding area. We all loved the bikes I was a little worried about mosquitoes given the pond our chalet was on, but they’ve clearly thought of everything. They’ve actually cultivated dragonflies on the property to naturally keep mosquitoes in check. We kept our door open the whole time with zero issues. And the staff😭😭😭 every single person we encountered had incredible energy, was completely attentive, and the word “no” simply didn’t exist in their vocabulary. Only slight “con” is the dinner. Similar to other reviews I don’t fully understand why they’d do small plate dining for every single night. Some of it was good, some of it wasn’t but we weren’t big fans of the small plates every night. Luckily they have options and have a menu with full size items too (you just need to specifically ask for it). I got the full size salmon pretty much every night and was happy. And to clarify, the restaurant is not Michelin, the hotel is. It’s a Michelin key (hotel related, not food related). All in all, If you’re considering it, just go. Anyone who saw our photos immediately asked, “what is this place?” It’s that kind of property. [...]

beautiful hotel and property, amazing views, a nice place to get away and disconnect, with wonderful bike trails. it's definitely not a place that i would base myself if i was wanting to explore the dolomite region as it is fairly remote. the service is hit or miss. we had two waiters that were exceptional; beautiful hotel and property, amazing views, a nice place to get away and disconnect, with wonderful bike trails. it's definitely not a place that i would base myself if i was wanting to explore the dolomite region as it is fairly remote. the service is hit or miss. we had two waiters that were exceptional; however, most were average at best. we stayed at the Adler Lodge Alpe last summer so I realize that I had pretty high expectations for Adler Ritten. Alpe was flawless in every way - drinks were served as soon as we sat down without even asking - the waiters made us feel known and never once did we have to look for someone as there was always someone stopping by to check on us. the same can't be said for Ritten. many times we waited and waited to get a waiter's attention and then proceeded to wait some more for whatever item it is that we wanted. dinners were quite long and drawn out but the food was good. i did like that they had an a la carte menu so there was always something that appealed to each member of our family, which was helpful when dinning with teenagers. i wouldn't recommend the spa. i had a facial and massage and wouldn't consider either one memorable. overall, we had a nice stay but i don't know that i would be back to this particular hotel.
